Will the world end?
There has been speculation that our world will come to an end on 21 December 2012.
Though NASA said that nothing is going to happen…The doomsday fever and confusions are still there. One of my friends phoned and invited me to have biriyani with him. He is afraid that he can’t eat biriyani anymore.
Hmm, Is it okay if the world ends tomorrow ?
Definitely No!!
Here is why it’s not ok:
1. I am planning for a trip to Florida next month.
2. I have not witnessed snow fall so far.
3. I have no girlfriends.
4. I’m not yet married…not even once.
5. I haven’t visited my favorite place – Ireland.
6. I just bought a 3D TV and a home theatre but haven’t enjoyed it much.
7. There is at least six months from now for me to taste mom’s Dosa with sambar and chutney.
8. Dream home is still a dream.
9. No one will read my blog.
Why it is ok to end:
1. I need not pay my credit card and utility bills.
2. No pressure on settling in life.
Hmm, Will the world come to an end tomorrow? At least, Can it wait till this weekend is over?

Homesick
16 hours of power cut,
Polluted air,
Violated rules and
Necessity is now a luxury.
Still I love my country and feel homesick.
I miss my mom, bro, friends, thinnai veedu, dosa, chutney and sambar.
Keyboard
Playing a keyboard was my long time wish. I once asked my parents to buy me a keyboard that costs around 3000 INR. I was studying 4th standard at that time and I used to cry whenever I happen to see a music shop. This made my parents to get me one. They took me to an exhibition in Tirunelveli and got me a tiny keyboard for 30 rupees . I did not bug them after that and was highly satisfied. I never played anything other than Happy Birthday song.
Now, at the age of 29, not knowing on what to do at home, I searched through my bucket list and found this old wish. Buying a keyboard!
So I hopped on to a music store and brought a keyboard, stand and a chair home.
I have no idea on what to do with these many black and white keys. I’m not going to take music lessons, they charge 20$ for half hour. I’m already broke.
I have decided (do I have a choice here ?) to learn on my own with the help of internet / books and a video lessons from GarageBand of MacBook Pro.
Lets see…In few days I will get to know whether my wish is Playing a keyboard or just Buying a keyboard

iPhone 5
September 21 2012 was a FriPhone5Day . I had Pre-Ordered an iPhone online last week and the ship date was September 28 but I couldn’t wait for it. so I drove to Verizon store on Friday morning and grabbed a 32 GB black iPhone 5 and then cancelled my preorder. This is the first time I drove my car all alone to a place other than my office. The store is less than 4 miles from my home, but I drove extra 6-7 miles just because I was not able to change my lane . Thats a different story…Here is my review on iPhone 5.
What I like:
The phone is super thin. I did not like the phone when I first saw it online, It looked as it was stretched from it’s original size. But in real, the phone is awesome. It is so flat and thin which even makes it hard to pick the phone from desk. The product design is so good. Kudos to Jonathan Ive. The Apps makes it more powerful and interesting. Also I’m jumping form GPRS to LTE. I got 25.27 Mbps download speed which is double the times faster than my wifi connection.

Kings island ticket in Passbook. However I was not able to use it as the scanning machine in King island wasn’t working.
What is not exciting:
The User Interface is pretty old. Since the first iPhone, It has the same rows of jelly icons. It is cool, but aren’t we bored on seeing the same interface for 5 years ?. IOS 6 comes with features like Facebook integration, Passbook, Panorama which are new to iPhone that already exists in every other smart phones. Maps is not accurate. I had to use google maps on safari to get the correct route. Why not apple come up Edge to Edge display. I don’t like the bars at the top and bottom of the phone
What disappointed me:
The phone gives a thud sound when I shake it. Yes, the brand new phone has a loose component (battery not properly secured) inside. Even the display item in the store has the same issue. I called Verizon immediately but they had only white color phones available to replace, I did not want the white one so I took it to the Apple store to get it fixed. I appreciate Apple’s support. No more thuds now
What I miss from my previous phone (Windows Phone 7):
I’m a great fan of Windows Phone. It’s user interface is awesome and there is no other UI that’s so live and interactive. I totally depend on office docs and skydrive but now I need to make use of the notes on iCloud. The only major concern with my old phone was the battery. I had to charge it twice a day. iPhone is good for a day. Also syncing content from windows phone to mac was not that straight forward. May be I will switch back to windows phone (8) next time

Overall, iPhone 5 is good.
Just Pass – Graph Theory
I got my exam results in mail. First I forgot my register number. So I phoned my friend to confirm. Then I was not sure what this ‘E’ means.
My friend has got lot of Es too, so that made me confused whether it is really pass . I compared my previous results and found that E is just above F(Fail) which means I’m pass.
I’m not great in studies…but I’m an expert in clearing subjects with least marks
I have to finish my project and viva but it is not possible now as I cannot travel to India until next year.
I wrote this ambitious post when I joined MS in 2009 and another post few months back in confusion after Graph Theory examination. Now it is just one step to complete my degree.
PS: MS degree is as adventurous as Dangerous Dave and Super Mario. I’m in last level and hope to complete it soon.
Tamil Alphabets – My first iBook
I have created my first iBook named Tamil Alphabets. This book is about Uyir Ezhuthukal and Ayutha Ezhuthu of Tamil.
iBooks got me fascinated by its multimedia integration in to books. So I decided to create an interactive book about Tamil Alphabets. I have spent almost a month to complete this book and finally published it today. It just took 4 1/2 hours for Apple to review my book and now it is available on iTunes.
Features:
- Video is integrated in all pages that teaches you how to write the letter.
- A writing pad is available to practice what you have learnt.

Clock and Bed
The clock ticks so loud,
a constant rhythm in my dream,
My bed is a cloud that sails far supreme.
The clock turns in to a sun
I’m still in my bed
Wake up, Wake up! the clock hits my head.
Time wants me to go
But the bed says no
Fight for my love continues between those two.

I’m a sensitive person and I can’t hide happiness, sorrow or anger inside. I’m going through a tough time at work for the past three months where my ideas are not recognized.
I’m loosing temper quite often…
- When answers are alone expected than a solution.
- When my hours of analysis are underestimated and overlooked by superiors with their illogical design.
- When people stay behind me and look at my monitor while I work.(I freaked out to my workmate for standing behind me when I work. I felt bad later for not being nice)
I burst out in anger to my colleagues, leads and escalated today. I was so aggressive and wanted to rip off the whole system to show that my reverse engineering is fool proof. But I was totally dominated.
I never bothered about demotivations and never needed encouragements. I just move on with my inner spirit but now I’m frustrated and venting it through my blog.
I hope not to lose my passion with these temporary negative thoughts.

My first car
I bought my first car. It’s a pretty old 1997, Toyota Camry. I registered it in my name on tuesday and got it delivered on friday.
Optimus Prime
Since childhood, I buy vehicles before I know to drive them. That applies to my cycle and scooter. Till now I don’t know to drive geared motor bikes just because I didn’t own them.
Now, I have bought a car with out having any idea of driving. I will have to learn and get a license soon. I hope to explore the city with this car.
Well, let me name my car. I like the name Bumble Bee but my Honda Activa and Cycle shares the same, So I will name it as Optimus Prime.
PS: I’m planing to buy Autobots emblem and a keychain.
