I have spent this B’day with my colleagues last week. We had dinner at BRIO Tuscan Grille in Newport. It was a nice and simple celebration. I didn’t expect a cake :)

Dinner with colleagues Niraj, Krishna, Shakti and Bindu.

After dinner, we went to the movie – Snow White and the Huntsman. The show started arround 10:30 pm and I was quite involved. I was also curious on what scene I would be watching when it’s 12 on my birthday :)

You know what, when the clock hit twelve, I was in wonderland. Yes, the Snow White (Kristen Stewart) goes in to an enchanted forest where she finds blessed and beautiful creatures. I was there too :)

 

PS: Kristen Stewart was so beautiful :)

I’m completing 29th year today. Like every year, this one was special too.
Though I have not done anything good/great/big so far, I’m enjoying it. But the fact that I’m in to 30th year reminds me of few things. This is the stage where men becomes more responsible, save money, buy house, get married and settle in life.

I have not started doing any of those. Should I at least start it now? Come on, I’m just growing :) .

I have no plans and I don’t want to settle. I hate to use brain to plan and live a calculated life. My brain does not work properly most of the time :D So I prefer to use my heart and live the way I love.

I hope this year will be great, fun and adventurous.

In one of my previous posts about iPad, I mentioned that I will buy it when I come to US. Yes! I did it. I got my first month salary in dollars and waited for a week thinking whether to buy or not…then I just went ahead and bought it yesterday :) . There was some rumors about mini iPad, but I am not interested in smaller size iPads – Actually I don’t have patients to wait till its release :) . (I don’t know why people wants the iPad to be smaller and the iPhone to be bigger :D )

Ok, here is what I have bought…

It’s a 3rd generation wifi only model with 32 GB memory. I got 2% discount from my corporate. So It’s 663$ with smart cover and taxes.

I also mentioned in my review that there is nothing interesting other than the Retina display. Yes! It’s all the same with few changes in processor and camera etc. It’s little heavier than the previous one. But the display is stunning. It’s really awesome. I downloaded kindle and iBook apps. I hope reading books would be nice in it.

Note: I was not able to add pictures in my post from safari, so I switched to WordPress app to add these pictures but there was no option to set one as featured image, so I had to switch back again to browser. Creating a post in both iPad browser and WordPress native app is a pain and a bit annoying.

PS: I hope Tim cook will not announce a new iPad in WWDC that is scheduled on June 2 week :)

Bumble Bee

I remember the days, when my father bought me a Hercules MTB (Mount Terrain Bike) as second hand. That was my pet and I enjoyed riding it. It was stolen one day and I felt very bad. I went to each an every neighbor’s house asking whether they have seen my cycle.  I did not get it back, so my dad got me a new Hero cycle which I have used from 6th standard till completing my engineering degree.

Okay, Enough of history. What’s now?

Now, I have got a chance to buy a cycle again. I don’t have frequent buses to office from my apartment. To commute, one needs a car for sure. But buying a car at this time is not possible. Since my office is just 1.6 miles from home, I bought a cycle.

It’s a Mountain Bike and I named it as Bumble Bee :)

I bought front and rear lights but forgot to buy batteries :D

I went to office by cycle. I tend to keep left as in India :) then somehow managed. I’m the only one who comes by cycle in my office :)

Welcome to my house

Whoo! I have shifted to an apartment and it’s pretty awesome. On friday evening my colleagues helped me move here. Then we went for shopping and bought pillows, comforter, Bathtub screen and lot more. I reached home around 10 pm after spending 165$ in shopping.

Since this apartment is new to me and that too it’s a night, I felt very lonely and scared to sleep  ;) So I called my Mom and then felt better. I also phoned my friends to kill the time and finally fell asleep.

Next morning, the sounds of the birds woke me up. I went to the balcony and amazed to see tiny little birds flying all around. I saw a small RED bird which was so beautiful. This place is awesome!

The hall is quite spacious, but I’m not going to buy a couch / sofa to fill the hall anytime sooner :)

My Kitchen – It’s really funny to say ‘My kitchen’. I don’t know cooking but got all utensils and groceries to cook :D

I have been nominated for Kreativ blogger award by a most creative and interesting blogger Vandhana.

This is my second award and I’m happy about it. Many thanks to Vandhana.

As per the rules, I have to tell seven facts about me and nominate the KBA award to seven creative bloggers.

My Seven:

  • I want to make something BIG in technology.
  • I’m afraid to sleep alone in the night.
  • I’m going to learn cooking and driving.
  • Animation movies are my favorite.
  • I’m a dreamer.
  • I like to dance, but I don’t. I like to play drums, but I never took a step to learn.
  • I love blogging.

It’s always tough to tell about ourself. Okay, now I’m going to nominate this award to my favorite bloggers.

0. Platform 9-3/4 – This is my all time favorite and a very innovative blog, but I can’t nominate it to her because she (Vandhana) is the one who gave me this award :)

So here are the creative blogs that I have found myself in wordpress.

1. My cup of tea – Jayati is a very creative blogger. The blog is awesome and one can find treasures in it. My Cup of Tea deserves this award. I don’t think the blogger drinks tea though the title is My Cup of Tea ;)

2. Rhymes with Vienna - The blogger’s name is Dienna and she writes about the observations of her own life. It’s is an interesting and a matured blog. There is a unique style in her writing and one can delve in to imaginations just by reading it. I like to come around this blog regularly.

3. Humorous Interludes - This blog has wonderful limericks. The blogger, Ron Yarosh has the tendency to refer a situation and write humorous limericks on it. Very nice and a humorous blog. (I was not aware of limericks until I visited this blog :D )

4. Amaltaas - Indira is an artist and a very good poet. I have a great respect and love to stop by this blog.

5. Gargi Sharma - This is an amazing blog by a law student Gargi Sharma. Reading this blog is an adventure.

6, 7 -> I preserve it for future use ;) . I’m not sure the rule allows this, but I like to nominate it later.

PS: Kam’s Column is the blog that comes first in my mind when I think about creative blog, but the author deleted his blog. I’m waiting for the blogger to create another one soon.

101. This is not an emergency number. This is the 101th post of my blog. I wanted to write about my blog experience on my 100th post but my travel experience took that place :) so I’m writing it in my 101th post.

Reaching 100 is not as big or special as Sachin’s centuries of centuries. I have seen many bloggers reaching that number very soon after starting their blog. Still this 100 is special to me.

I have not continued doing anything this long. I never did anything consistent in all my life. It really surprises me that I have blogged for nearly 4 years. So this 100 is not ordinary to me.

Let me share few facts about my blog and me.

Why I blog?

I always wanted to own a website during my college days. That too, I wanted to create a web site on my own. So I created my first website in 2006 in the name of enterbaluzworld.netfirms.com (its dead now). Though I did not like the hosting service name ‘netfirms’ after my website address, I had no choice at that time :) )

This crap web site was live until the free hosting service expired. I modified it a couple of times and then at some point I understood that I’m not a good web developer/designer. So I stopped wasting time on it. Still I wanted to be a part of the web space. I learned about WordPress somehow and started this blog in the name of balamuthu.wordpress.com in 2008. I recently bought the domain name balamuthu.com when I took blogging seriously.

What I blog?

I used my blog more like a Facebook in the beginning. I used to post or share what ever I find interesting on the web. Then I started to treat it as my diary and posted more about the happenings and thoughts of mine. When I read back my own blog, I felt very good.

I do not write or explain things very well and one can find hell lot of grammatical mistakes on my blog :D , still I don’t mind those and I just write what ever I feel. It’s my damn website :D

What I read?

I like to read other people’s ramblings. I peek in to other blogs and enjoy reading theirs :) . Recently I have found many interesting blogs like Kam’s Column, VandySnape, Amaltaas, PurpleBooky, Rhymes with Vienna, My Cup of Tea and lot more…

I show interest to blogs about life, technology, poems and so on.

What I have learnt?

Earlier, It was hard for me to write more than few lines. But now I write so many paragraphs even if there is no matter at all.This post is an example :) . I hate lengthy posts and I’m worried that mine is becoming one of those :(

In the beginning, I don’t mention the source of images/information that I have used in my blog. Now I try to create a picture on my own or mention if I use others.

Regarding comments, I used to comment on other blogs just to make them visit my blog and get some hits :) . then, I have become little honest and I started to comment genuinely expecting nothing in return. :)

What I expect?

I expect my blog to be a super hit and want the whole world visit my website until the server becomes down :D .I also like to make a lot of good friends.

So that is all about my blog. There is nothing more to tell.

The crowded gift shop

I entered in to the gift shop in my office building to buy books and toys for my niece’s birthday and wondered on seeing the crowd inside. I have never seen so many people inside this shop.

What’s so special…?

I went ahead and found people buying some red colored greeting cards with hearts and roses on it.

Oh yeah…!!

Tomorrow is valentines day and the folks are buying cards and gifts for their loved ones…

Oh Yeah !! What I’m supposed to do… Nothing really…Im just sitting alone and posting this in my blog…

Huh 28 years over :) I don’t remember anything I did useful till this year :(

I hope this year will be amazing !! I believe in miracles… Life is always beautiful and its going to be great from today.., Will be doing something BIG which I always dream about…
