Dark Night

I have a habit of sleeping with the lights on as I’m alone in my apartment, But today, I have to sleep without lights. There is no power due to storm in cincinnati 😦

I’m a man and I’m not afraid of storm, thunder or any other threats. but this darkness…OMG, It’s so scary :(.

The worst part is, I just watched a horror movie ‘Don’t be afraid of the dark’ at my friends place. I did not complete the movie and I asked my friend to drop me. When I’m back home, the power has not yet come. My friend asked me to sleep at his place, but for some unknown reason I said I’m good.

I’m surviving with the lights from my MacBook Pro’s screen. It is my only company now. It has 51% of battery power and I hope the lights will be back soon.

While typing this post on TextEdit, my computer scared me for a moment by shouting ‘It’s 11’o clock’. Let me tell victoria (system’s voice) not to announce the time when it is 12.00.

Hmm, I’m taking an oath now…If I survive tonight, I’m going to be the wisest person in the world from tomorrow.

I’m done with the post and I will be updating this in my blog when the power comes.

God! I don’t pray for success, but I ask for POWER.

the Wilds

Last saturday, I went to the Wilds, Cumberland, Ohio. It is a wildlife conservation center located on about 10,000 acres. The safari on a open bus was nice. I did not find more animals, but the trip was worth. The pictures below were taken using my phone camera, so it is not that good and I wasn’t not able to take pictures of animal from long distance. May be I should buy a decent camera before my next trip :).

Birthday

I have spent this B’day with my colleagues last week. We had dinner at BRIO Tuscan Grille in Newport. It was a nice and simple celebration. I didn’t expect a cake 🙂

After dinner, we went to the movie – Snow White and the Huntsman. The show started arround 10:30 pm and I was quite involved. I was also curious on what scene I would be watching when it’s 12 on my birthday 🙂

You know what, when the clock hit twelve, I was in wonderland. Yes, the Snow White (Kristen Stewart) goes in to an enchanted forest where she finds blessed and beautiful creatures. I was there too 🙂

I’m completing 29th year today. Like every year, this one was special too.
Though I have not done anything good/great/big so far, I’m enjoying it. But the fact that I’m in to 30th year reminds me of few things. This is the stage where men becomes more responsible, save money, buy house, get married and settle in life.

I have not started doing any of those. Should I at least start it now? Come on, I’m just growing :).

I have no plans and I don’t want to settle. I hate to use brain to plan and live a calculated life. My brain does not work properly most of the time 😀 So I prefer to use my heart and live the way I love.

I hope this year will be great, fun and adventurous.

Windows 8 Release preview : Balu’s vLog

Microsoft has launched Windows 8 release preview last week. It’s much more matured than the developer and consumer preview. The Metro UI is awesome and I’m sure it’s going to be a great OS for tablets. Unlike static icons in existing tablets like iPad and Android (No offense :)), Live tiles seem to be unique and fantastic.

I’m not sure how Microsoft will manage to bring the same OS for both tablets and PCs. Let’s wait and watch.

iBought an iPad

In one of my previous posts about iPad, I mentioned that I will buy it when I come to US. Yes! I did it. I got my first month salary in dollars and waited for a week thinking whether to buy or not…then I just went ahead and bought it yesterday :). There was some rumors about mini iPad, but I am not interested in smaller size iPads – Actually I don’t have patients to wait till its release :). (I don’t know why people wants the iPad to be smaller and the iPhone to be bigger :D)

Ok, here is what I have bought…

It’s a 3rd generation wifi only model with 32 GB memory. I got 2% discount from my corporate. So It’s 663$ with smart cover and taxes.

I also mentioned in my review that there is nothing interesting other than the Retina display. Yes! It’s all the same with few changes in processor and camera etc. It’s little heavier than the previous one. But the display is stunning. It’s really awesome. I downloaded kindle and iBook apps. I hope reading books would be nice in it.

Tadaaah 🙂

Note: I was not able to add pictures in my post from safari, so I switched to WordPress app to add these pictures but there was no option to set one as featured image, so I had to switch back again to browser. Creating a post in both iPad browser and WordPress native app is a pain and a bit annoying.

PS: I hope Tim cook will not announce a new iPad in WWDC that is scheduled on June 2 week 🙂
